What to do around South Lefroy
If you love water-based adventures, this place is a dream. From snorkelling, to star gazing. Here’s how to make the most of your stay:
Snorkel straight from the beach
The highlight of South Lefroy is the reef, starting just a few metres from shore. You can swim out and immediately be among coral bommies, tropical fish and turtles in no time. The water is calm and shallow, making it ideal for all levels of snorkellers.
Launch a SUP, Kayak or boat
Got a tinny, kayak or paddleboard? Even better! On calm days, you can paddle out for a closer look at the reef, or take the boat out for a day fishing. Just check the marine zone maps to stay outside the sanctuary zones.
Sunset and star gazing
With no light pollution and a wide open western horizon, South Lefroy is sunset heaven. Crack a cold beer, and watch the sky turning on a show. And when the night falls, the Milky Way is on full display!

Explore the old Whaling Station
If you feel like exploring, take a drive north on the station track. You’ll find more secluded beaches, drive through sand dunes and rocky headlands. Make sure you’ve dropped your tyre pressure as the sand can be soft.
